JW Marriott Ranthambore Resort & Spa has appointed Vivek Gomes Pereira as General Manager, placing him at the helm of Marriott International’s landmark 10,000th property globally.

Pereira has been closely involved with the resort’s development, leading the property through its pre-opening phase and subsequent launch. In his new role, he will focus on strengthening the resort’s positioning within India’s growing luxury wildlife and experiential travel segment.

An alumnus of the Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development (OCLD), Pereira brings more than two decades of luxury hospitality experience. He spent over a decade with The Oberoi Group across Mumbai and Bengaluru, holding progressive leadership positions in food and beverage operations. In 2024, he joined Marriott International as Hotel Manager at JW Marriott New Delhi Aerocity before taking on the Ranthambore assignment.

Building a Destination Beyond the Safari

Pereira’s mandate will include establishing JW Marriott Ranthambore as a destination that extends the guest experience beyond the region’s core wildlife offering.

“Ranthambore deserves to be experienced far beyond the safari,” he said, highlighting the resort’s focus on longer stays, deeper destination discovery and immersive guest experiences.

He brings a leadership approach centred on mentorship and associate empowerment, alongside experience in driving commercial performance across luxury hospitality operations.

His appointment comes as luxury hospitality brands increasingly look beyond traditional accommodation to build destination-led resorts around wellness, culture, gastronomy and local experiences — a strategy JW Marriott Ranthambore is looking to advance in one of India’s best-known wildlife destinations.
