Marriott International announces the appointment of Kumar Shobhan as the Multi-Property General Manager for The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat and Fairfield by Marriott Kolkata.
An accomplished hospitality leader, Kumar Shobhan has built an extensive career across some of the industry’s most respected brands, including Hyatt, Taj, and The Imperial. Having spent a significant part of his professional journey with Hyatt International, he has developed deep expertise across Operations, Sales & Marketing, Revenue Management, Food & Beverage, and Guest Experience enhancement.
His strategic insight, combined with strong people leadership capabilities, has consistently contributed to the successful performance and positioning of the properties under his stewardship.
An alumnus of the Institute of Hotel Management, Goa, Shobhan began his hospitality career in 2000 as a Food & Beverage Associate with Hyatt Regency Delhi. Over the years, he has played a pivotal role in driving growth and operational success across multiple hospitality destinations.
His experience includes leading pre-opening projects, overseeing large-scale renovations, and implementing transformative food & beverage and guest engagement initiatives. In 2017, he assumed his first General Manager position, successfully spearheading the opening of Hyatt Regency Lucknow in his hometown.
