Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has strengthened its presence in Assam with the opening of Ginger Guwahati, Aerocity, adding a new hotel to the brand’s growing network across key commercial and travel markets in India.

Located on New Airport Road, the 31-key hotel positions Ginger close to one of Northeast India’s most important aviation gateways. The opening reflects the increasing hospitality activity around Guwahati, a city that serves as a critical point of entry for business and leisure travel across the region.

Commenting on the opening, Deepika Rao, Executive Vice President – Select Service Business, IHCL, said, “With the opening of Ginger Guwahati, the brand continues to expand its presence in key markets across the country. As the gateway to Northeast India, Guwahati is an important commercial and travel hub.”

The Gateway to the Northeast

Set along the Brahmaputra and known for its cultural landmarks, historic shrines and access to the wider Northeast, Guwahati occupies a distinctive position at the intersection of commerce, tourism and culture.

As connectivity and travel demand across the region continue to develop, Ginger’s latest opening adds another branded hospitality option to the city’s evolving accommodation landscape.
