IHG Hotels & Resorts has entered into a management agreement with Club Chaulani Ltd. to develop Holiday Inn Dhangadhi, a 115-key hotel in Dhangadhi, Nepal. Scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2028, the project marks IHG’s entry into Sudurpashchim Province and aligns with the group’s strategy to expand across high-growth, emerging South Asian markets.
Expanding IHG’s Footprint in Nepal
The signing strengthens IHG’s presence in Nepal by introducing the globally recognised Holiday Inn brand to a new region of the country. With a portfolio of more than 1,200 hotels worldwide, Holiday Inn is known for its consistent quality standards, warm hospitality, and guest-centric offerings, appealing to both business and leisure travellers.
Holiday Inn Dhangadhi will be located in the city centre as part of a mixed-use development. The hotel will sit approximately 8.5 kilometres from Dhangadhi Airport and close to the India–Nepal border, positioning it to benefit from strong cross-border connectivity. The property is expected to serve a diverse mix of travellers, including government officials, business visitors, and transit guests.
Comprehensive Hospitality Offerings
The hotel will feature 115 contemporary guest rooms alongside four food and beverage outlets, including an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, and a pool bar. Additional amenities will include meeting rooms, a ballroom, a fitness centre, and a swimming pool, catering to corporate events, social functions, and leisure stays.
Dhangadhi is emerging as an important commercial and tourism hub in western Nepal, driven by infrastructure development and increasing domestic travel. The hotel is also expected to attract leisure travellers visiting nearby attractions such as Shuklaphanta National Park and Ghodaghodi Lake.
The signing underscores IHG’s confidence in Nepal’s long-term hospitality potential and reinforces its commitment to expanding internationally branded hotels in underpenetrated destinations across South Asia.
