Accor announces the signing of Mantis Nagarhole, marking the debut of the globally renowned eco-luxury brand in India. Set on the edge of the Nagarhole Tiger Reserve in Karnataka, the premium wilderness retreat strengthens Accor’s growing presence in experiential leisure destinations across South Asia.

Part of the ecologically significant Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, the resort will reflect the Mantis brand’s globally recognised philosophy of conservation-driven hospitality and immersive nature experiences.

Opening in 2028 with 31-Key Wilderness Retreat

Scheduled to open in 2028, Mantis Nagarhole will feature a 31-key eco-retreat spread across nearly 13 acres. The project will include a mix of cottages and guest rooms, complemented by an all-day dining restaurant, bar, spa, swimming pool, gym, and curated outdoor experiences.

Guests can expect guided safaris, nature trails, cultural immersions, and interactive landscape features including a viewing tower designed to deepen engagement with the surrounding wilderness.

Designed with a low-impact development approach, the resort will integrate ESG-led frameworks aligned with Accor’s global sustainability standards. The project will prioritise energy efficiency, biodiversity conservation, and long-term environmental resilience while supporting local communities and responsible tourism initiatives.

The project is being developed by South India-based hospitality and real estate group Macs Max Private Limited, led by Hirehal Jairaj Balram, with a focus on high-potential leisure destinations.

Commenting on the signing, Ranju Alex, CEO – South Asia, Accor, said: “The signing of Mantis Nagarhole reflects our focus on expanding in high-value leisure destinations while remaining committed to sustainability and conservation. The retreat will deliver an exceptional wildlife experience while embodying the Mantis philosophy of responsible tourism, community engagement, and environmental stewardship.”

Nagarhole Emerges as Luxury Eco-Tourism Destination

The Nagarhole region has rapidly evolved into a sought-after eco-tourism hub, attracting discerning domestic and international travellers seeking wildlife, wellness, and low-density experiential stays.

With limited premium hospitality inventory in the region, Mantis Nagarhole is expected to set a new benchmark for eco-luxury hospitality in India, offering exclusive access to key safari zones while maintaining privacy and sustainability at its core.
