ndian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the signing of a 122-key Gateway hotel in Alwar, Rajasthan, thereby expanding its presence in a destination increasingly drawing interest for its mix of heritage, wildlife and proximity to the National Capital Region (NCR).
The brownfield project, being developed in partnership with Lords India Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., will be positioned under IHCL’s Gateway brand.
“With its rich cultural heritage and proximity to NCR, Alwar is emerging as an ideal getaway for travellers seeking nature, wildlife and heritage experiences,” said Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President, Real Estate and Development, IHCL. She added that the signing aligns with IHCL’s strategy of entering and developing new destinations.
Gaining ground as a leisure market
Nestled within the Aravalli hills, Gateway Alwar will feature 122 rooms with views of the surrounding landscape. Its food and beverage portfolio will include an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant and a bar.
The hotel will also feature a swimming pool, fitness centre and spa, alongside more than 9,000 sq. ft. of banqueting space and flexible meeting facilities. The sizeable events infrastructure positions the property to cater to weddings, social celebrations and corporate gatherings in addition to leisure travellers.
Manoj Kumar Chachan, Founder, Lords India Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., said Alwar’s historic character holds significant potential as a leisure destination, adding that the partnership with IHCL will bring the Gateway brand to the region.
Located within reach of NCR, Alwar combines Rajasthan’s cultural heritage with access to nature and wildlife. The destination is home to landmarks including Bala Quila and City Palace, while Sariska Tiger Reserve and Siliserh Lake strengthen its appeal for leisure travellers.
The signing adds another hospitality development to Alwar’s evolving tourism landscape, as hotel companies look beyond Rajasthan’s established destinations to emerging leisure markets with strong regional connectivity.
