IHCL Strengthens Growth Momentum with 20 Hotel Signings, 11 Openings in Q1 FY2027

Hospitality major IHCL strengthens its growth trajectory with 20 new hotel signings and 11 openings in the first quarter, reinforcing its Accelerate 2030 roadmap.

Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has sustained its expansion momentum in the first quarter of FY2027, signing 20 new hotels and opening 11 properties across its brand portfolio.

 

With these additions, the company's portfolio has grown to 645 hotels, including an industry-leading pipeline of 263 hotels. The operating portfolio now exceeds 380 hotels, underscoring IHCL's continued leadership in India's hospitality sector.

Growth Brands Drive Expansion

Highlighting the quarter's development strategy, Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL, said that the company's growth brands remained at the forefront of expansion. "With a focus on our growth brands, 17 of the 20 signings this quarter were across Gateway, Ginger and Tree of Life. These included new destinations and emerging markets such as Bharatpur, Trichy, Sindhudurg, Jawai and Wayanad, while also deepening our presence in established markets including Mumbai, Goa, Agra and Kolkata."

 

IHCL's flagship luxury brand, Taj, achieved a significant milestone during the quarter by reaching a portfolio of 150 hotels. The brand added three new signings, further strengthening its leisure offering with projects in Dharamshala, Barapani (Meghalaya) and Kusur Valley (Maharashtra).

 

"The Taj brand reached a milestone of a 150-hotel portfolio with three signings this quarter, expanding its leisure footprint to Dharamshala, Barapani in Meghalaya and Kusur Valley in Maharashtra," Venkatesh added.

Expanding Presence Across India and International Markets

IHCL also maintained a robust pace of hotel openings during the quarter, launching 11 properties across domestic and international markets.

 

Commenting on the operational expansion, Deepika Rao, Executive Vice President – Hotel Openings & New Businesses, IHCL, said: "This quarter, IHCL expanded its footprint with 11 hotel openings, taking its operating portfolio to over 380 hotels across brands and markets."

 

Internationally, the company strengthened its luxury presence with the opening of Taj Hessischer Hof in Frankfurt, Germany, and Taj Bush Lodge in Greater Kruger, South Africa.

 

Within India, the SeleQtions portfolio expanded with the addition of Ayodhayam in Ayodhya and Bandra House in Mumbai, while Gateway entered Kandla with a new hotel. Ginger continued its growth trajectory with new properties in Hyderabad, Agra, Kota, Gadchiroli (Maharashtra) and Siwan (Bihar).

 

With a portfolio of 645 hotels and a robust pipeline of 263 projects, IHCL remains firmly on course to achieve its strategic objective of building a 700-hotel portfolio under its Accelerate 2030 roadmap, reinforcing its long-term growth ambitions across luxury, upscale and lean-luxe segments.
