40 Keys & A New North Goa Address: Sibaya Expands In Calangute
Sibaya expands its North Goa footprint with the opening of Sibaya Courtyard by Stone Wood Premier, a 40-key hotel in Calangute.

Sibaya, in partnership with Stone Wood Hotels & Resorts, has opened Sibaya Courtyard by Stone Wood Premier, a 40-key hotel in Calangute, marking the second property under the Sibaya portfolio.
The opening comes as North Goa’s established Baga–Calangute belt continues to evolve, with hotels increasingly looking beyond location as the sole differentiator. Design, privacy, flexible event spaces and experiences that cater to different traveller segments are becoming part of the competitive landscape.
Located in Khobra Vaddo, the property is around a five-minute walk from Tito’s Lane and within easy reach of Baga and Calangute beaches. At the same time, its location away from the busiest stretches of the neighbourhood gives it a somewhat quieter setting within one of Goa’s most active tourism zones.
Building The Sibaya Portfolio
The hotel has 40 rooms with private balconies. Its accommodation offering is complemented by facilities aimed at smaller gatherings. A 1,507 sq. ft. conference and banquet hall, with capacity for around 80–100 people, allows the property to accommodate corporate meetings, private functions and social events. A swimming pool, multi-cuisine restaurant with bar and open courtyard café complete the core offering.
The mix points to a hotel model that sits between a conventional leisure stay and a small-format events property, targeting independent travellers and families alongside corporate and social groups.
The property's interiors draw on Goa's tropical character through colour, décor and bedroom wallpapers. Courtyard spaces and private balconies add outdoor elements to the accommodation and common areas.

The Larger Market Opportunity
According to Shaminder Singh, Managing Partner, Sibaya Courtyard by Stone Wood Premier, the property has been developed around the growing demand for stays that combine proximity to North Goa’s attractions with comfort and privacy.
Shikhar Kumar, Managing Partner, Sibaya Courtyard by Stone Wood Premier, notes that the competitive North Goa market is increasingly shifting beyond location-led offerings, with design, comfort, privacy and smaller-format events becoming important differentiators.
For Sibaya, the Calangute opening follows Sibaya Beach Resort in Morjim, taking the portfolio from one Goa location to two. The expansion also comes against a backdrop of continued investment across North Goa, where established tourism infrastructure is increasingly being complemented by newer, design-led and experience-oriented hospitality formats.
For operators, the challenge in North Goa is no longer simply securing a location close to the beach or entertainment hubs. The Baga–Calangute market has a wide spectrum of accommodation, making differentiation increasingly important.
Sibaya Courtyard's combination of a relatively compact room inventory, leisure facilities and event infrastructure reflects one response to that market: creating a property that can draw demand from multiple segments rather than relying exclusively on seasonal leisure traffic.
With further expansion planned under the Sibaya portfolio, the Calangute opening provides an early indication of the brand's approach as it looks to build beyond its initial Goa presence.
