WelcomHotel by ITC Hotels Mohali Chandigarh has announced the appointment of Suriya Vikrant Sharma as its Pre-Opening Executive Chef. This appointment comes as the hotel prepares for its opening, with a strong focus on establishing robust culinary operations and a comprehensive service framework.
Role and Responsibilities
With over 15 years of experience in food and beverage operations, Sharma will spearhead culinary planning during the property’s pre-opening phase.
In his new role, Sharma will be responsible for overseeing kitchen planning, menu development, and the overall culinary strategy. His mandate includes setting up food production systems and ensuring operational readiness ahead of the hotel’s launch.
Additionally, he will establish service standards, build and train kitchen teams, and align the hotel’s culinary offerings with its brand positioning.
Professional Background
Sharma brings extensive experience from leading hospitality brands, including The Oberoi Group, ITC Maurya, JW Marriott, and The Ritz-Carlton. His portfolio includes managing large-scale operations, VIP banquets, and high-profile events.
He has also gained international exposure through his association with Atmosphere Core.
Sharma’s expertise spans menu design, cost management, and kitchen operations. He has contributed to major international events such as the G20 and B20. He holds certifications in globally recognized food safety standards, including ISO 22000 and HACCP.
His leadership is expected to play a key role in shaping the hotel’s gastronomic identity and ensuring a high-quality dining experience.
