Banyan Group and Mandai Wildlife Group have announced the grand opening of Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree, marking Banyan Group’s first property in Singapore and its 100th hotel globally. Owned by Mandai Wildlife Group, the resort is a strategic addition to the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, Singapore’s premier wildlife and nature destination.

Eddy See, President and CEO of Banyan Group, highlighted the significance of the milestone: “Mandai Rainforest Resort represents a deeply meaningful homecoming, combining our legacy of design-led hospitality with our commitment to stewardship. Guests are invited to reconnect with nature and experience travel that uplifts communities, in alignment with Singapore’s City in Nature vision.”

Bennett Neo, Group CEO of Mandai Wildlife Group, emphasised the resort’s role in enhancing the precinct: “Accommodation is a key part of the Mandai experience. This resort allows guests to explore at their own pace, fully immerse in nature, and extend their engagement with the Reserve’s offerings.”

A Nature-Immersive Experience

Set on 4.6 hectares of rainforest, the resort integrates biophilic design, retaining mature trees and natural terrain. Elevated treehouses, inspired by the seed pods of the Purple Millettia, offer canopy-level views of the Upper Seletar Reservoir, while the five-storey main building provides forest-facing guestrooms and suites. Interior design celebrates local biodiversity, featuring artwork and antique lithographs of native wildlife.

The resort’s signature restaurant, Forage, delivers a Harvest to Table dining experience, sourcing ingredients from its rooftop edible garden and local sustainable producers. Guests can enjoy reservoir views, sunset dining, and birdwatching from the observation deck. Rooftop amenities include a pool, the Discovery Forest, and an edible garden cultivating native herbs like Butterfly Pea, Torch Ginger, and Lemongrass.

For younger guests, the resort playground offers rainforest-inspired structures, including cannonball fruit and buttress root installations, designed to encourage exploration, motor skills, and creativity while blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings.
