Chalet Hotels to Launch Its First Ritz Carlton in Hyderabad
Chalet Hotels to debut its first Ritz-Carlton property in Hyderabad.
By SOH Edit Team
Chalet Hotels is set to introduce the Ritz-Carlton brand to India with a new ultra-luxury hotel in Hyderabad. Located in Madhapur, the project will deepen Chalet’s presence in one of its strongest markets while bringing a globally recognised luxury offering to the city.
The hotel will feature approximately 330 rooms alongside nearly 36,255 sq ft of commercial and retail space. It will form part of a larger mixed-use complex developed under a warm-shell lease with Mindspace. On completion, the property will become Chalet Hotels’ third hotel in Hyderabad and its first venture into the ultra-luxury segment.

Strategic Significance
This development marks Chalet Hotels’ entry into ultra-luxury hospitality, expanding beyond its premium and upper-upscale portfolio. The Ritz-Carlton is part of Marriott International’s global portfolio. Shwetank Singh, Managing Director and CEO, Chalet Hotels, has described the project as a milestone, citing favourable terms secured through Chalet’s long-standing partnership with Marriott and the strength of its existing Marriott-managed portfolio across India.
Hyderabad’s sustained demand from technology, pharmaceutical and corporate sectors—particularly in Madhapur’s IT corridor—continues to support high-end hospitality growth. The project also reflects a broader shift toward luxury hotels integrated within business districts rather than traditional city centres.
Investment and Timeline
The total project cost is estimated at INR 930–940 crore. Chalet Hotels expects to invest around INR 630 crore through a mix of internal accruals and debt, while Mindspace will invest approximately INR 300 crore in the overall development. Under the warm-shell model, Mindspace will deliver the structure and core services, with Chalet responsible for interiors and operational infrastructure—an approach aimed at improving cost efficiency and construction timelines.
The hotel is expected to be completed in about 36 months, with target completion extending into the 2029 financial year. Once operational, the Ritz-Carlton Hyderabad is expected to generate stable, long-term returns, reinforcing Chalet Hotels’ strategy of building enduring hospitality assets in key urban markets.
