Marriott International has announced the global debut of its new midscale brand, Series by Marriott, marked by the opening of 26 hotels across India. The rollout forms part of the company’s strategic alliance with Concept Hospitality Private Limited (CHPL). Under the partnership signed in May, CHPL’s flagship brand, The Fern, will affiliate with Marriott International, significantly expanding Marriott’s presence in India’s fast-growing midscale segment.
The collaboration with CHPL positions Marriott to capitalise on India’s expanding domestic travel market. By integrating The Fern Hotels & Resorts portfolio, Marriott gains immediate scale and access to a strong nationwide footprint, supporting its ambition to accelerate midscale growth in emerging and established destinations.
Tailored to India’s Growing Travel Demand
Commenting on the launch, Kiran Andicot, Senior Vice President, South Asia, Marriott International, said: “India’s vibrant domestic travel market and growing demand for dependable, affordable stays make it the ideal launchpad for this brand. Series by Marriott is about celebrating regional stories while delivering the consistency and care our guests expect from Marriott. These 26 openings mark the beginning of a broader rollout, with over 100 planned launches in the coming year.”
The initial phase of openings under The Fern Hotels & Resorts, Series by Marriott introduces more than 1,900 rooms across 26 properties in 23 cities. This launch marks the start of an extensive expansion pipeline, with Marriott planning over 100 additional openings in the coming year, reinforcing its long-term commitment to India’s hospitality landscape.
