The Oberoi Group has announced the opening of The Oberoi Rajgarh Palace, Khajuraho, a 350-year-old restored Bundela-era palace set on a 76-acre estate with a natural lake. Originally built by Maharaja Hindu Pat, the palace stands on the Maniyagarh Hills amid Sal and Palash forests, offering views of the Vindhyachal ranges and proximity to Panna National Park and the UNESCO-listed Khajuraho temples.

Heritage meets contemporary luxury

Executive Chairman Arjun Oberoi said the restoration aimed to preserve the palace’s architectural integrity while integrating modern comforts. The property features 65 rooms and suites, including private pool villas and lake-facing terraces, as well as dining venues such as Maanya, Neerangan and Amrava. The estate also houses banquet spaces for up to 200 guests.

CEO Vikram Oberoi noted that the opening aligns with the group’s long-term strategy to build luxury destinations rooted in cultural and natural significance. He emphasised that the project blends heritage, sustainability and contemporary design to create an immersive stay.

COO Mohit Nirula highlighted the precision and coordination behind the project, while General Manager Manav Mathur emphasised the responsibility of preserving the palace’s historic spirit.
