Accor Grows Luxury Portfolio in India with Sofitel Rishikesh Narendra Nagar
Accor expands its luxury footprint in India with Sofitel Rishikesh Narendra Nagar signing.

Accor has announced the signing of Sofitel Rishikesh Narendra Nagar, a landmark luxury resort to be developed in the foothills of the Himalayas overlooking the River Ganges. Scheduled to open in 2030, the eight-acre property will introduce Sofitel’s French-inspired luxury to Rishikesh, one of India’s most renowned spiritual and wellness destinations. The resort will feature 160 rooms and suites designed to blend contemporary elegance with local artistry, offering expansive views of the Ganges valley and surrounding mountains.
Commenting on the signing, Maud Bailly, CEO of Sofitel Legend, Sofitel, MGallery & Emblems, said, “We are delighted to introduce Sofitel in Rishikesh, a destination celebrated globally as the Yoga Capital of the World. The resort will include five dining destinations comprising a signature restaurant, rooftop specialty dining, a pool bar and grill, and a lobby lounge and bar. Wellness facilities will encompass two swimming pools, a 623 sq m Sofitel Spa with six treatment rooms, a fitness centre, and curated yoga and meditation programmes inspired by ancient regional practices. In addition, over 2,000 sq m of banqueting and event spaces, including indoor ballrooms, outdoor lawns, and a dedicated bridal suite, will position the resort as a premier venue for weddings, retreats, meetings, and conferences.

Development Partnership and Sustainability Focus
The resort is being developed in collaboration with the Dangayach Group, a leading Indian conglomerate with more than five decades of experience across hospitality, jewellery, and real estate, and a portfolio that includes globally recognised hotel brands. The project will be a new-build development aligned with Accor’s Planet 21 and Gaia 2.0 sustainability frameworks, incorporating energy-efficient systems and responsible development practices.
