The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has signed definitive agreements to acquire a 51% stake in Sparsh Infratech Private Limited, the owning company of Atmantan, a leading luxury wellness retreat located in Mulshi near Pune. The transaction gives IHCL full ownership of the Atmantan brand and its proprietary wellness expertise, setting the stage for the company’s expansion into the fast-growing integrated wellness segment in collaboration with Atmantan’s founding promoters.
Commenting on the acquisition, Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, IHCL, said the booming wellness tourism market is driving a “convergence of health and hospitality,” with travellers increasingly seeking immersive experiences that move beyond traditional treatments.
“Addressing this emerging consumer need, IHCL marks its entry into the integrated wellness segment with Atmantan. Its holistic and unique wellness proposition, together with its proven business model, seamlessly complements IHCL’s brandscape,” he said.
Chhatwal added that partnering with founders Sharmilee and Nikhil Kapur brings together Atmantan’s proprietary wellness programmes and IHCL’s vision to build and scale an integrated wellness portfolio across select global destinations, including properties within its current network.

A Landmark Moment for India’s Wellness Industry
Calling the partnership a “landmark deal” for the global wellness sector, Nikhil Kapur, Founder-Director of Atmantan Wellness Centre, said the collaboration allows the brand to expand the reach of its science-backed, transformation-focused programmes. “With IHCL’s deep hospitality expertise and shared values of care and excellence, we are poised to take Atmantan’s philosophy to a wider audience, leveraging Taj InnerCircle’s 13-million-strong customer base,” he said.
Founder-Director Sharmilee Kapur noted that Atmantan was built on the belief that true wellness stems from the harmony of spirit (atma), mind (mana) and body (tann). “Partnering with IHCL allows us to scale this vision with the same authenticity and depth of experience our guests have come to trust,” she said. “Together, we aim to make transformative wellness more accessible while setting new benchmarks in luxury and holistic well-being. This marks an exciting new chapter in Atmantan’s journey.”
