Lemon Tree Hotels Limited has announced the signing of a new property, Keys Select by Lemon Tree Hotels, in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The company currently operates a network of more than 220 hotels nationwide—some industry estimates place the figure at 226—including over 110 operational properties. It also maintains a robust development pipeline of more than 100 upcoming hotels.
Lemon Tree continues to follow an asset-light expansion strategy, primarily leveraging franchise agreements and management contracts to scale its presence. This model enables local entrepreneurs to operate hotels under the Lemon Tree brand in exchange for fees, while the company focuses on brand development, systems, and operational oversight.
The Expansion Strategy
The newly signed Bhopal hotel will be managed by Carnation Hotels Private Limited, the group’s wholly owned management subsidiary. The addition will further strengthen Lemon Tree’s footprint in Madhya Pradesh and cater to both business and leisure travellers seeking modern, comfortable, value-driven accommodation.
Commenting on the signing, Vilas Pawar, CEO – Managed and Franchise Business, Lemon Tree Hotels, said: “With this new property, we continue to grow our leisure and business portfolio in Madhya Pradesh, where we already have four operational hotels and nine more in the pipeline. The state’s growing economy, unique culture, and rich heritage make it an ideal market for us. As we expand across India and into cities of all sizes, this signing supports our goal of offering refreshing and comfortable stays at every destination.”
