SAMHI Hotels has received formal confirmation from the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) for an extension of the development timeline for its flagship Navi Mumbai hotel project. This approval paves the way for the development of a landmark 700-room dual-branded hotel strategically located near the Navi Mumbai International Airport and DY Patil Stadium.

The proposed project—set to be operated under the Westin (Upper Upscale) and Fairfield by Marriott (Upper Mid-scale) brands, subject to definitive agreements—will represent SAMHI’s largest hotel asset by room count. The development underscores the company’s focus on creating scalable, high-quality hospitality infrastructure in India’s key gateway markets.

Phase 1 Development to Deliver 400 Rooms

The first phase of the project will include approximately 400 rooms, forming a core component of SAMHI’s scalable asset strategy targeting markets with robust and sustained demand potential. This phased approach enables the company to bring capacity to market sooner while aligning with the ongoing expansion of Navi Mumbai’s infrastructure ecosystem.

Ashish Jakhanwala, Chairman & Managing Director, SAMHI Hotels, commented: “We are delighted to receive MIDC’s confirmation, which unlocks a transformational opportunity for SAMHI in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. This development will be a marquee addition to our portfolio, advancing our scale and strengthening our presence in a critical gateway market.”

The MIDC extension not only provides development certainty but also aligns SAMHI’s project timeline with the region’s accelerating economic growth and infrastructure development.
