Thomas Cook (India) Limited and SOTC Travel have announced the strategic relaunch of China as a key holiday destination for Indian travellers. The initiative comes as diplomatic relations strengthen, direct flight connectivity resumes, and visa processes ease — factors driving renewed travel demand from India.
The companies report robust interest, with tours selling out even during the traditionally low season of October–November. In response, Thomas Cook India and SOTC have expanded their China holidays portfolio with itineraries tailored for families, Gen Z, millennials, professionals, couples, and solo travellers.
Blending Icons with New Experiences
The enhanced portfolio combines favourites such as Shanghai, Xi’an, and Beijing with new destinations including Chongqing, Chengdu, and Zhangjiajie. Experiences range from rides on the Shanghai Maglev, immersive theatre and drone shows, to Michelin-starred dining and Baijiu distillery tours. Group tours also feature high-speed train travel, Indian chefs on board, and multi-destination China–Japan options for the Cherry Blossom season.
China’s expanding infrastructure and the revival of trade events are fuelling growth in business and MICE travel. Cities like Shanghai, Beijing, and Chengdu are emerging as strong hubs for corporate travel, conferences, and incentive programs.
