Global music icon Ed Sheeran’s latest release ‘Sapphire’ is creating ripples across the world—and at its heart lies a celebration of India’s vibrant culture. Filmed during his recent tour of the country, the song not only features stunning visuals but also a unique collaboration with Indian music legend Arijit Singh and a special cameo by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

A key part of Ed’s India journey unfolded at the majestic ITC Grand Chola, Chennai, which served as the base for the artist and his troupe during their stay. The hotel’s regal architecture and warm hospitality are featured in the music video, making it a visual feast.

A Tribute to Culture, Connection, and Hospitality

One of the most talked-about moments? Ed Sheeran donning an ITC Hotels chef's hat with the tagline ‘Every Creation is a Masterpiece’ as he tried his hand at flipping coin parathas under the guidance of Chef Nikhil Nagpal at the award-winning Avartana. Ed dined twice at the iconic restaurant, enjoying a bespoke 13-course menu curated by Chef Nikhil and his team—featuring highlights such as triple-distilled Tomato Rasam, Steamed Seabass, and the Instagram-favourite Fennel Pannacotta.

Beyond the culinary delights, Ed also took time to unwind at the serene poolside terrace, enjoying a traditional champi—a truly immersive wellness experience.

The hotel also catered to the sold-out concert at YMCA Ground, offering a specially curated menu of Indian and international hors d'oeuvres for backstage and VIP guests.

‘Sapphire’ is more than just a song—it’s a tribute to cultural harmony, creativity, and connection. And for ITC Grand Chola, it marked a moment of memorable hospitality, as music and tradition blended seamlessly under one roof.
