Antara’s Private One-Suite Yacht Sets Sail at ₹1 Lakh a Night
One suite, two guests and the Hooghly to yourself. Nauka Vilas brings a new expression of private river travel to India.

Antara River Cruises has launched Nauka Vilas, a private wooden yacht built around a single luxury suite, introducing an ultra-intimate format for exploring the Hooghly and its historic riverfront settlements.
Sailing from Kolkata, the vessel has been conceived for couples and private travellers, combining personalised itineraries, dedicated onboard service and curated dining within a yacht designed to function more like a private residence than a conventional river cruise.
4 Days Through Centuries of Bengal
At the heart of Nauka Vilas is its defining proposition: the entire vessel is reserved for its guests.
The yacht features one luxury suite with a king-sized bed, three-fixture ensuite bathroom and walk-in closet. Floor-to-window river views and hand-finished teak interiors shape the living experience, while a private sun deck transforms into an open-air lounge overlooking the river.
A dedicated culinary team is also available onboard, with menus tailored around guest preferences.
The yacht debuts with A Romantic Bespoke Journey on the Hooghly, an all-inclusive three-night, four-day itinerary tracing the cultural and architectural history of Bengal along the river.
Beginning from Kolkata, the journey connects destinations including Tribeni, Bandel, Chandernagore and Serampore, bringing together layers of Islamic, Portuguese, French and Danish heritage before returning to Kolkata.
The itinerary takes guests through historic shrines, colonial churches, Mughal-era sites and terracotta architecture, with excursions, meals, beverages and transfers included.

Privacy as the New Luxury

Nauka Vilas has also been positioned around milestone travel, including honeymoons, anniversaries, birthdays and private celebrations, with itineraries that can be customised around individual requirements. Bookings for Nauka Vilas are now open, with fares starting at ₹1,00,000 per night, including pick-up and drop-off from Kolkata.
With a single suite, a private vessel and an itinerary built around the traveller, Nauka Vilas brings together two increasingly important ideas in contemporary luxury travel: exclusivity through privacy and deeper engagement with place.
