As Netflix India completes ten years, the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Tourism, and Netflix India celebrated the role of storytelling in taking India’s rich heritage, landscapes, and traditions to audiences worldwide.

The partnership introduced “As Seen on Netflix”, a first-of-its-kind section on the Incredible India website that allows audiences to explore real locations, cultural traditions, and experiences featured in Netflix India’s films and series.

At the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA)Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos joined Minister for Culture and Tourism Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat for a fireside conversation on the impact of authentic storytelling in promoting tourism, strengthening India’s creative ecosystem, and showcasing the country’s diverse cultural identity.

The event also marked the premiere of two new videos celebrating India’s wildlife and cultural heritage, further expanding efforts to highlight India’s multicultural appeal.

The initiative builds on the MoU signed between the Ministry of Tourism and Netflix India last year, reinforcing India’s commitment to supporting creative production, cultural diplomacy, and tourism promotion through entertainment.

Leadership Perspectives

Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister of Culture and Tourism, said, “India’s stories have always been our greatest cultural ambassadors. Our collaboration with Netflix creates an opportunity to take India to the world and bring the world to India. Through powerful storytelling, we can showcase our culture, heritage, destinations, and wildlife while strengthening India’s creative ecosystem and global tourism presence.”

Ted Sarandos, Co-CEO, Netflix, said: “There isn’t one India, there are many Indias. Over the past ten years, we have seen how stories rooted in different parts of the country can connect with audiences worldwide. When people discover a place or culture through a story, it can inspire them to experience it themselves. We are pleased to continue working with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to bring more of India’s stories and destinations to global audiences.”

By bringing India’s stories to the world, the collaboration aims to inspire discovery, encourage travel, and strengthen the country’s position as a leading cultural and tourism destination.
