The Khyber Himalayan Resort & Spa in Gulmarg recorded more than 1.81 lakh virtual views and 3.4K high-intent visitors within 30 days of deploying Spalba’s 3D Digital Twin platform, highlighting how immersive technology is beginning to influence the hospitality discovery and sales journey.
With destination weddings, luxury travel and MICE bookings increasingly beginning with digital research, hotels are turning to immersive tools that allow prospective guests and event planners to explore properties remotely before committing to site visits.
At The Khyber, Spalba’s Digital Twin offers interactive virtual access to guest rooms, banquet spaces and outdoor venues, allowing users to navigate the property beyond the limitations of conventional photography and video.
A New Layer to Venue Discovery
The early engagement figures point to growing interest in virtual venue exploration, particularly among destination wedding planners, corporate organisers and leisure travellers evaluating properties remotely.
“Today’s travellers expect to experience a destination before they book it,” said Vinit Chhabra, AVP & General Manager, The Khyber Himalayan Resort & Spa. “By offering an immersive digital journey, we are enabling guests and event planners to make more informed decisions while giving our sales team a more effective way to showcase the property.”
For Vishal Puri, Co-founder, Spalba, Vishal Puri, Co-founder of Spalba, the hospitality sector is witnessing a broader shift in how premium properties are marketed. "Digital Twins are becoming an important commercial tool, particularly for destination properties where buyers often evaluate venues remotely.”
The technology can also help reduce preliminary site visits and allow hotel sales teams to focus on more qualified prospects. For destination properties, where geography can add friction to the booking process, that digital layer becomes particularly valuable.
The early results point to a wider industry shift: immersive technology is moving from a marketing feature to a potential tool within the hospitality sales funnel.
