Moustache Group of Hotels has entered southern India with the launch of Luxuria Gokarna by Moustache in Karnataka’s Uttara Kannada district. The opening expands the group’s geographic reach and adds a coastal leisure destination to Luxuria, its premium hospitality vertical.
Gokarna offers a combination of beach tourism, pilgrimage and nature-led travel. Anchored by the Mahabaleshwar Temple and the revered Atmalinga, the town’s appeal extends along a coastline that includes Om, Kudle, Half Moon and Paradise beaches. This mix of cultural and leisure experiences has helped establish Gokarna as an alternative to busier beach destinations.
A 20-Key Coastal Retreat
Located on elevated terrain near Om Beach, Luxuria Gokarna features 14 rooms overlooking the central swimming pool, four cottages with private plunge pools, four cottages with bathtubs and two Presidential Suites. An in-house restaurant and garden complete the property’s facilities, while its location provides access to the surrounding beaches and coastal landscape.
The October-to-February period typically brings stronger visitor demand to Gokarna, supported by more favourable conditions for beach visits and outdoor activities. The destination’s accessibility from Karnataka and neighbouring states also makes it a draw for short breaks and long weekends.

“Gokarna gives us a very strong combination of beach, culture and leisure travel, and it has a pace that fits naturally with Luxuria,” said Abhishek Khandelwal, Co-Founder and Director, Moustache Group of Hotels. He described the opening as a step towards building the brand’s presence in destinations attracting travellers seeking quieter, experience-led holidays.
With the launch, Luxuria by Moustache has 11 operating properties, while the group’s overall portfolio stands at 38 across its Hostels, Select and Luxuria brands. The Gokarna opening broadens its presence beyond its established northern markets and adds a new coastal destination to its expansion strategy.
