Radisson Hotel Group, in partnership with Nile Hospitality, has expanded its Gujarat portfolio with the opening of Radisson Resort & Spa Sasan Gir and Park Inn & Suites by Radisson Rajkot.
The expansion is significant for the contrast between the two markets. Sasan Gir gives Radisson a presence in one of Gujarat’s key wildlife and experiential tourism destinations, while Rajkot strengthens its exposure to the commercial and industrial economy of Saurashtra.
The 122-key Radisson Resort & Spa Sasan Gir, located near Gir National Park and overlooking Madhuvanti Dam, is positioned around leisure, experiential travel, weddings and MICE. Beyond wildlife tourism, the resort is designed to capture the growing demand for destination celebrations and group travel. The scale makes events a substantial part of the property's proposition, allowing it to serve weddings and corporate offsites alongside conventional resort stays.
In Rajkot, the 54-key Park Inn & Suites by Radisson Rajkot addresses a different demand profile. Located on Kanak Road, the hotel is positioned primarily around business and corporate travel generated by Rajkot’s manufacturing, engineering, automotive components, trade and SME ecosystem, while also catering to leisure and social stays. The opening also marks the Park Inn & Suites by Radisson brand’s debut in Rajkot.
Together, the two properties add 176 rooms to the partnership’s portfolio in the state, which now spans five hotels across Kandla, Gandhinagar, Navsari, Sasan Gir and Rajkot.
Hospitality Beyond Gateway Cities
The two openings reflect a wider shift in branded hospitality expansion: growth is increasingly moving beyond metropolitan and established gateway markets into regional commercial centres and experience-led leisure destinations.
For Radisson, the Gujarat strategy combines both. “India’s hospitality landscape is evolving rapidly, with growth increasingly emerging across a diverse mix of leisure destinations, emerging urban centres and high-potential Tier II and Tier III markets,” said Nikhil Sharma, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group.
He added that the two properties bring different propositions to their respective markets — an experience-led resort in Sasan Gir and an internationally branded midscale offering in Rajkot.
With Sasan Gir and Rajkot operational, the Radisson-Nile Hospitality portfolio in Gujarat now comprises five hotels, with existing presence in Kandla, Gandhinagar and Navsari.

Vikram Singh Chauhan, Founder and CEO, Nile Hospitality, “The addition of Radisson Resort & Spa Sasan Gir and Park Inn & Suites by Radisson Rajkot demonstrates the versatility of NILE Hospitality’s partnership with Radisson Hotel Group across Gujarat.”
For the partnership, the expansion is less about clustering around a single type of destination and more about following multiple sources of demand—tourism, business travel, weddings, MICE and regional economic growth.
Sasan Gir and Rajkot may sit at opposite ends of that demand spectrum, but together they illustrate where branded hospitality groups are increasingly looking for their next phase of growth: beyond the obvious markets.
