Taj, the iconic brand from IHCL, unveils Tradition to Table — a thoughtfully curated collection of recipes by Taj chefs, inspired by and dedicated to their earliest culinary mentors: their mothers.
For over a century, Taj has held a cherished place in the hearts of its guests. As a custodian of India’s rich culinary heritage, the brand has played a defining role in shaping the nation’s dining culture. From pioneering India’s first 24-hour coffee shop, Shamiana, and Mumbai’s first licensed bar, Harbour Bar, to introducing global flavours through Golden Dragon and Wasabi by Morimoto — Taj has consistently blended tradition with innovation.
This legacy continues today with contemporary dining experiences such as Loya in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.
Recipes Rooted in Home and Heritage
Tradition to Table brings together recipes from homes across India, reflecting the diversity Taj has celebrated for over 120 years. Spanning regions from Gangtok to Srinagar, Jaisalmer to Chennai, the collection captures flavours nurtured in family kitchens and passed down through generations. Each recipe embodies the warmth, authenticity, and care that define Taj’s signature approach to hospitality — rooted in ‘Tajness’.
Aligned with IHCL’s purpose-led ethos, royalties from the sale of Tradition to Table will support IHCL’s CSR initiatives, extending the impact of this initiative beyond the culinary world.
Published by Rupa, Tradition to Table is now available at bookstores across India.
