Setting the Benchmark for Global Luxury Brands

According to Brand Finance's Hotels 50 2026 report, Taj secured an impressive Brand Strength Index (BSI) score of 93.5 out of 100, alongside the highest AAA+ brand strength rating. The report also notes that Taj's brand value increased by 32 per cent to USD 878 million, underscoring its sustained commercial and reputational growth.

Brand Finance attributes Taj's continued success to its ability to meet the evolving expectations of luxury travellers who increasingly seek authentic, experience-led stays. The brand's distinctive blend of Indian heritage, personalised service and timeless luxury has enabled it to build strong global brand equity while preserving its cultural authenticity.

Reflecting on the ranking, David Haigh, Chairman & CEO, Brand Finance, said: “Taj's continued recognition as the world's strongest luxury hotel brand is a remarkable achievement. With an exceptional Brand Strength Index score of 93.5, Taj demonstrates how a brand can build global stature while remaining deeply rooted in its cultural identity. Its distinctive blend of Indian heritage, timeless luxury and personalised hospitality continues to create powerful guest affinity and sets an important benchmark for the global luxury hospitality industry.”

Today, Taj operates a portfolio of 150 hotels across 14 countries, encompassing grand palaces, luxury city hotels, beach and spa resorts, wildlife safari lodges and premium serviced residences. As IHCL continues its global expansion, the brand remains a powerful ambassador of Indian hospitality, combining heritage with contemporary luxury to deliver world-class guest experiences across diverse destinations.
