IHCL Adds 181-key Taj Palace to Growing Uttar Pradesh Portfolio
Located in Gomti Nagar, Taj Palace, Lucknow marks the hospitality major’s second Taj hotel in the city; IHCL’s Uttar Pradesh portfolio now stands at 60 hotels across more than 20 cities.

Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has opened Taj Palace, Lucknow, strengthening its presence in Uttar Pradesh as the hospitality company expands across key commercial and tourism markets in the state.
The 181-key hotel, inaugurated by Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, is the second Taj hotel in Lucknow and adds to IHCL’s growing portfolio in the state.

Commenting on the opening, Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, IHCL, said that cities such as Lucknow are emerging as important growth centres amid infrastructure development, rising investment and increasing visitor traffic.
“As India’s economic and tourism landscape continues to expand, cities such as Lucknow are emerging as important centres of growth, driven by infrastructure development, rising investment and increasing visitation. The opening of the second Taj hotel is reflective of the state’s growing prominence and our commitment to the region,” Chhatwal said.
IHCL has built a portfolio of 60 hotels across more than 20 cities in Uttar Pradesh, spanning its various hospitality brands. The company said its presence in the state covers established spiritual and cultural destinations as well as emerging commercial centres.
Chhatwal said IHCL’s long-standing presence in Uttar Pradesh has expanded significantly and that the company will continue to tap opportunities created by the state’s growing tourism and business ecosystem.

The Chambers debuts in Uttar Pradesh
The hotel features four food and beverage destinations. Bistrot is a contemporary café offering artisanal teas, handcrafted coffees and light bites, while House of Ming specialises in Chinese cuisine. Machan serves local and international cuisine as an all-day dining restaurant, and Shadow & Oak is positioned as the property’s whiskey bar.
The property also marks the Uttar Pradesh debut of The Chambers, Taj’s members-only business club, offering private spaces for meetings and business engagements. Its meetings and events offering includes multiple banqueting spaces designed for conferences, corporate gatherings and social occasions.
The hotel’s leisure and wellness facilities include J Wellness Circle, Taj’s signature wellness offering inspired by Ayurveda and holistic wellbeing, along with a fitness centre and rooftop swimming pool.
