The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) will convene one of Eastern India’s most significant tourism and hospitality gatherings with the Hospitality and Tourism Conclave scheduled to take place in Siliguri on January 16 and 17, 2026, at ITC Fortune. The event comes at a time when Eastern India is witnessing accelerated growth in tourism, driven by enhanced connectivity, a strengthening domestic travel market and increasing investment interest from hotel brands, operators and entrepreneurs.
With over 500 delegates expected to attend, including national industry leaders, hospitality exhibitors and key stakeholders, the conclave aims to serve as a unified industry platform as Eastern India’s role on the national tourism map continues to expand.
Eastern India’s Tourism Growth Momentum
The Eastern region is entering a new phase of tourism development, supported by infrastructure improvements, rising leisure and experiential travel demand, and the emergence of new destinations. Siliguri’s strategic location as a gateway to the Northeast, the Eastern Himalayas and neighbouring countries positions it as a natural hub for tourism-led growth. The conclave seeks to capitalise on this momentum by facilitating dialogue, collaboration and investment alignment across the hospitality ecosystem.
The two-day programme will bring together hotel owners, brand representatives, developers, architects and designers, tourism boards, technology providers, marketing professionals and F&B entrepreneurs. The agenda has been designed to reflect the evolving structure of the hospitality business and the region’s changing market dynamics.
Key sessions will explore the future of tourism in Eastern India, emerging hospitality formats such as villas, hostels and hybrid assets, and the importance of owner–brand alignment. Additional discussions will focus on direct booking strategies, revenue management, branding and marketing, design-led commercial outcomes, and the role of technology, OTAs and artificial intelligence in enhancing guest experiences and operational performance. The programme will also highlight the rise of strong regional hospitality brands from the East, opportunities in scaling F&B businesses, curated networking forums, and an awards and gala evening.
The Hospitality and Tourism Conclave 2026 is presented by MakeMyTrip and powered by Yanolja Cloud Solution, with support from leading hospitality, travel, technology and destination partners. Strong sponsor participation reflects growing industry confidence in Eastern India as a high-potential hospitality and tourism market.

Industry Perspective
Commenting on the conclave, Sumit Mitruka, Chairman of the ICC Hospitality and Tourism Committee, said the event reflects the region’s evolving ambition. “Eastern India is at a critical stage in its tourism journey. There is a visible rise in demand for nature-driven, wellness-oriented and design-focused travel, alongside expanding opportunities for owners, brands and entrepreneurs. This conclave is intended to bring all stakeholders together so the region can progress with a shared vision. The East merits greater national attention, and this forum aims to help accelerate that shift.”
The conclave is being supported by ICC North Bengal Chairman Harsh Berlia and Vice Chairman Gopal Dalmia, both of whom have contributed significantly to the development of the region’s business and tourism ecosystem. ICC has extended invitations to stakeholders across the hospitality and tourism value chain to participate in the two-day event in Siliguri, reinforcing its commitment to fostering structured growth and collaboration in Eastern India.
